Encountering issues in your Salesforce Org can be frustrating, but fortunately, you have the ability to grant your Salesforce administrator or a support representative from Salesforce login access to your account. This feature, accessible with just a few clicks, is a key part of Salesforce's support system, designed to make problem-solving easier for you!

Here is a Quick Example of How to Use This Feature

Andrew works at Water Books Consulting Firm as a sales representative. He's had trouble with his organization's dashboard creation. It is advised that he get in touch with a Salesforce support agent by the Salesforce administrator.

Thus, Andrew writes to a Salesforce support agent. “Hello! It is not possible for me to make dashboards for my company. My system administrator claims to have granted me authorization. Can you assist me in fixing this?” However, here's the query: In order to assist Andrew in fixing his problem, how does the support agent get access to his account? Easy! Andrew needs to give them permission to log in.

How to Grant Login Access in Salesforce

Granting login access means allowing specific people, like Salesforce experts or support staff, to enter your Salesforce account to help fix problems and provide support or training. Now, we will explore the steps to grant login access:

Step 1: Click the gear ⚙️icon in the top right corner of your home page to access the Setup menu.

Step 2: Click the circle beside the notification icon in the top right corner of your setup menu. Then click "Settings."

Step 3: Under the Quick Find box, select "Grant Account Login Access."

Step 4: Set the duration limit for their access to your account. You can set the duration period for their access to your account by clicking the picklist under “Access Duration” and selecting the appropriate duration opposite the personnel you want to grant access to. Then, save your changes.

Here is a quick video demo on how to do this in your own org:

Benefits of the “Grant Account Login Access” Feature

  • Improved Security: When users are given special and specific login credentials, the security around the org is intensified against unauthorized access. The “Grant Account Login Access” feature gives users the liberty to enter the org with their own login credentials instead of shared login credentials.
  • Better User Experience: With the “Grant Account Login Access” feature enabled, users will be able to log in to Salesforce more easily and quickly, which offers a better chance of having control over their own accounts.

Conclusion

It is not possible to allow ordinary people access to your account with the "Grant Account Login Access" feature. In order to help with support difficulties, this capability is mostly utilized to allow an administrator or support staff to log in as users and see their data.

“With Reco, our posture score has gone from 55% to 67% in 30 days and more improvements to come in 7-10 days. We are having a separate internal session with our ServiceNow admin to address these posture checks.”

“That's a huge differentiator compared to the rest of the players in the space. And because most of the time when you ask for integrations for a solution, they'll say we'll add it to our roadmap, maybe next year. Whereas Reco is very adaptable. They add new integrations quickly, including integrations we've requested.”
